HAMPTON

This pleasant little former Thames-side town has long been swallowed up by London, but the town centre pubs reflect the long history of the place. Beerhound's favourite is the JOLLY COOPERS* at 16 High St, only five minutes walk from the ground and half a mile from the station. Here there is a warm welcome and a pleasant atmosphere, with guest beers to complement the Courage and Young's which are normally available. Bar meals are to be had, and there is a separate restaurant.
'The Bell' on Thames Street is an alternative if the Cooppers is busy:- Greene King IPA, Fullers London Pride and a guest can usually be found. ; Good restaurant and bar food available.

Further afield, those who like to search out backstreet locals could try the MASONS ARMS* at Walpole Rd, Teddington about 2 miles away (get your A-Zs out!). Lunchtime food is available in this friendly boozer close to Teddington station. Brakspears and Wadworth's 6X available. Also, the KINGS' ARMS* at Hampton Court, by the Lion Gate, about 2 miles away, is a possibility for those coming by car or 726 bus from South London. The 111 bus which goes past Hampton's ground en route to Kingston, also stops outside. This historic pub has a public bar, and dispenses Hall & Woodhouse ales including the delicious Tanglefoot.
